Wilmington's Undefeated Football Team Takes on Rival Sharon in PIAA Playoff Action

The Wilmington Greyhound football squad advances in the PIAA District 10 playoffs with the next round on Saturday. This game sets up a rematch against Sharon. The Hounds move ahead after soundly defeating the Corry High School Beavers 35-8 in the first round of D10 playoffs Saturday night in Slippery Rock. With so much at stake, Wilmington Head Coach Terry Verrelli knows how to win.

"The fans expected us to win going against a 6-4 team, but we knew it was going to be a battle, and we just had to be patient," said Verrelli.

Titantown Sports Director DJ Yokley shows you the highlights from this playoff round in this week's Greyhound Roundup.

Coming up this Saturday the Hounds take on a very familiar opponent in Sharon. The Hounds and the Tigers scrapped it out earlier this season to the tune of 42-7 Wilmington. Coach Verrelli knows that facing the same team twice in a season can be dangerous.

Verelli takes undefeated Wilmington back to Slippery Rock University's stadium on Saturday, November 11, for a 7 p.m. kickoff. Now with the Tigers revitalized with an 8-2 record these rivals will face off in a playoff battle with the winner moving on to the D-10 semi-finals.
